What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy, classed as a complementary medicine, is the practice of evidence-based nutrition aimed at restoring and maintaining optimal physical and mental health, as well as preventing disease.

The job of a nutritional therapist is to thoroughly assess dietary, physiological and lifestyle imbalances. They identify the root causes of the presenting symptoms, using the best available scientific evidence, together with clinical experience. From there, it’s a case of trying to address these imbalances, using food first, then a variety of tools including supplements and laboratory testing when necessary. Nutritional therapists do not diagnose or treat disease, but they frequently work alongside other medical professionals to support individuals’ wellbeing.

My passions lies in helping those who want a positive, long-lasting change to their diet with real food that’s enjoyable, delicious and nutrient-dense. Using seasonal and quality ingredients, you’ll be able to manage your health issues without sacrificing your love for incredible food and flavours everyday.

The ideal situation is that you don’t feel that you have given up anything but in fact have been introduced to a new way of eating, leading to reduced snacking, loss of hunger pangs and cravings. Create enjoyable healthy habits that stick, encouraging wiser food choices for health, rather than any calorie counting.

With information constantly changing, I know the importance of keeping up-to-date with emerging evidence and new research, so you can rest assured that you are being provided with the highest quality protocols and can guarantee safe and effective naturopathic nutritional therapy.

Everyone can benefit from Nutritional Therapy.

Those with a specific illness or those who want to improve their well-being, gut health and diet will benefit.
